Moab, Utah, Summer, 2017 "The only sound out here is my own breath and my feet stuttering to make a path.Am I the only one in the only world?" -- St. Vincent As the summer heat peaked in Texas, we set out to explore the red landscape of Moab, Utah. We planned and prepared for the deserted off-road trails and dry terrain. With our Defender 110 packed with provisions for the week, including 34 gallons of water, we started our overland adventure. We moved slowly, but mighty. The trails tested our driving skills but we adapted by airing down on steep climbs and digging ourselves out of white sand. While driving down the steep canyons we were white knuckled with each bump and tilt. We were miles from civilization and the silence was our reward. All good explorations come to an end, even if there are more trails to travel.
